A QA Check is a post-installation quality assurance inspection carried out by an independent highly experienced, trade-qualified roofer. It's an independent service to check the quality of the completed roof. The QA Check is shared directly with you and your chosen roofer to notify them of anything that they may have missed, or has been installed incorrectly.

Roofbuddy marketplace users who order a QA Check and follow the agreed payment schedule are automatically covered by the Roofbuddy Customer Warranty*, ensuring against roofer default. More importantly a QA Check provides peace of mind that your job meets industry standards.

All QA Checks are carried out by highly experienced and trade-qualified roofers independent from both Roofbuddy and your chosen roofer. This ensures an unbiased assessment.

The QA Check looks at key areas like fixings, flashings, penetrations, gutters, and overall finish. It follows a detailed checklist to make sure the work meets the NZ Roofer's Code of Practice, as well as the material manufacturers' specifications.

The initial QA Check costs $299 for Roofbuddy marketplace users, or $899 for other roofing customers. Payment is made directly to the independent inspector via the payment link available on this page.

A QA Check is optional, but for homeowners with limited knowledge of roofing it's a smart extra step to take. It offers added confidence before you sign off on the work, and activates the Roofbuddy Customer Warranty.

The best time to order a QA Check is when you are confirming your job, or as early as possible in the process. Your chosen roofer will be notified that you have requested a QA Check, and they will notify Roofbuddy when your job is ready for inspection.

The QA Check should be done once the roofing job is complete but before you make final payment. This ensures any issues can be identified and addressed while your roofer is still engaged in the project. Once complete, you and your roofer will receive a report with photos and inspection notes.
